NWPL SUPER 4 COUNTDOWN: Amazons are good enough to retain title – Nnodim

Nasarawa Amazons no nonsense defender, Sarah Nnodim, has boasted that as reigning Champions, Nasarawa Amazons should be considered as title favourites and have no excuses for not challenging for the title in Lagos.

Nasarawa Amazons defence will begin on Friday when they face familiar foe Rivers Angels in the play offs to the final encounter on Sunday.

The Super Falcons defender told the NWFL Media that though the team resumed late after the Christmas break, but the team is getting back to shape.

” We have a great squad and even though we resumed back to camp just some few days ago, we are sure we will get full fitness before we travel down to Lagos. We have only one thing in mind and that is to retain the title we won last year in Benin.

“Our first game is against Rivers Angels and this is a team we have an healthy rivalry with. They are a very good side and we need to be wary of them. Nevertheless we are prepared to win the game,” Nnodim told the NWFL Media.

” I still think we are the favourites to lift the title in Lagos. We respect the other teams but still feel we owe ourselves alot as a team. We want to win for our fans, manager and also for ourselves. We want to pull out records by winning more titles.

Nasarawa Amazons will tackle Rivers Angels on Friday afternoon at the Agege Township Stadium.
