NWPL: AGM postponement hinders league resumption.

The resumption of the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) has been hindered following the postponement of the 2019 Annual General Meeting by its management last weekend.

This means that the commencement of the Nigerian Women’s League remains uncertain and no reason has been given for this abrupt delay. A new date is also yet to be announced.

The meeting scheduled to hold today at Abuja was initially announced by the league through the Chief Operating Officer, Ayo Abdulrahman on Monday 29th April 2019.

Not disheartened by the delay in the resumption of the League, the women teams are currently participating in the Aiteo/FA Cup in the country.

Bayelsa Queens are the defending champions of the NWPL, while Rivers Angels are the reigning champions of the Aiteo Cup.
