Edo Queens who had the support of the football fans based on their rating in Nigeria could not put smiles on the faces of their teeming fans as the majority of them left the Stadium disappointed.

Edo Queens had all it takes to defeat Confluence Queens connivingly in the first half of the game but lacked the discipline to tuck the ball into the net.

Edo Queens went into this game full of confidence, with their creative midfielder and team captain Suliat Abideen doing all the play without results to show for her solo efforts.

The only way to salvage the situation is for the girls to go all out against Delta Queens in tomorrow’s cracker. They are condemned to win the next game with at least three goals else all government efforts will seem wasted.

As they battle the host State Delta Queens on Friday evening in a fight to finish cracker, football fans expect to see a more focused and results-oriented Edo Queens.

Speaking immediately after the game head coach of Edo Queens Moses Aduku :

“For me, I believe everything is still possible. If you look at the chances we had it is not two goals, not three goals, we would have scored up to four goals. We didn’t take our chances.
I’m not disappointed it is painful but that is football. Today is just our bad day, we can still win the trophy.

I will go back and talk to the girls we need to up our games against Delta Queens it is going to be a tough game but I believe we can do it.”
