It appeared like the Kogi State-owned side was down and out, following a 0-2 loss to Bayelsa United on Wednesday, but one of the players from Lokoja, Daniella Fagbenro insists the race is not yet over.

She admitted it was painful and disappointing losing to Bayelsa Queens, but quickly interjected that they have put the setback behind them, and they hope to do better in the next game.

Fagbenro added that conceding the second goal was quite painful at a point when they appeared closer to an equaliser and so late in the game, but they reckoned that they could win their next match if they worked on their attack.

While speaking to Sports 247, Fagbenro stated: “It was a very good game but very disappointing that we lost the match.

“We will try better in our next game and do our possible best to win.
“What we have to work on is our attacking line, and we expect to win.”

Confluence Queens will face Rivers Angels in the second game of Match Day 4 at the Samson Siasia stadium on Friday 24th May 2024.
