NWFL 2022/23 : ‘Rivers Angel Will be Respected But We Want To Beat Them,’ Tosan Blankson Roars Fiercely

Ahead of the highly anticipated Nigeria Women Premier League encounter between Delta Queens and Rivers Angels tomorrow, coach Tosan Blankson has said that his team will respect the Port Harcourt based side but they want to beat them to maintain perfect start to the season.

Blankson admitted that Rivers Angels are one of the most respected teams in NWFL having represented Nigeria in the first CAF Women competition, Sports247.ng reports.

“Underrate them to your own peril, they should be respected, but they are beatable,” Blankson stated.

“Delta Queens haven’t gotten to that level yet, the team is still working very had to get there. You all remember Ufuoma Babes and the Old Delta Queens track record, that is exactly what the team is targeting to be and to be known for.”

“Delta Queens has come to stay and to be reckon with,” he allayed.

On the match proper, “the girls are in high spirit, they are confident but not over confident.”

“They have everything going well for them, they cannot let the State down. Whatever you thinks makes players to give their best performance, they have it.”

“Thanks to the Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Chief Tonobok Okowa. He has done excellently well for the team, they lack nothing,” he praised the state government.

Expectations tomorrow? “Same results, but due respect.”
