Sports247 gathered that Kanu will have to dust his boots and return to the field for some minutes of active football, as he will feature on ‘Masters Football,’ when it makes a return to television screens in the United Kingdom later this month.

Kanu will feature in a number of matches during the series, which will be aired on TNT Sports, with legends from various top football clubs across Europe stepping out against one another in a revival of the show that was last held in 2011.

A report by UK’s SunSport named all players listed for the show and added in part, “TNT Sports is set to broadcast the competition for the first time, with the original competition being shown on Sky Sports from 2000-2011.

“The brand has been revived, with teams from Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Ajax clashing in a one-day six-a-side tournament on May 31st at the OVO Arena Wembley, where Chelsea will deploy Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink up front.

“Claude Makelele and Robert Huth are among the legends in defence, while Liverpool‘s squad includes former Reds and Newcastle forward Andy Carroll, who recently left his role as interim coach of KSI-backed Dagenham and Redbridge.

“Ajax bring some Premier League pedigree of their own with Arsenal hero Nwankwo Kanu, 49, and former Fulham and Everton stopper Maarten Stekelenburg, 43, gracing the pitch for the Dutch contingent.”
