Nigeria’s grip on women’s volleyball strength across the sub-region tightened on Sunday night as the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) President, Engineer Musa Nimrod, congratulated the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) women’s team for their commanding win at the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship in Accra.
The Nigerian side delivered a clinical 3–0 sweep over the Ghana Air Force—25–20, 25–23, 25–14—at the Borteyman Sports Complex, underlining their competitive maturity and reaffirming Nigeria’s fast-rising stature on the continental volleyball landscape.

In his official message, Nimrod applauded the NCS players, technical crew, and management for demonstrating resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. According to him, the victory reflects not only the quality within the Customs squad but the broader momentum currently lifting Nigerian volleyball.
“The entire volleyball community in Nigeria is extremely proud of the Nigeria Customs Service team,” he said. “Their determination and exceptional display in Accra show the calibre of talent Nigeria possesses. This win goes beyond Customs—it’s a victory for the entire Nigerian volleyball family.”
Nimrod also highlighted the strategic impact of the Nigeria Customs Service’s long-standing investment in volleyball development. He commended Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) for championing the sport’s growth, noting that the Customs-backed Premier League has become a production line for elite national players.
“The CGC’s support has transformed our league and strengthened the foundation for teams capable of ruling Africa,” Nimrod stated.
With another statement performance on the continental stage, the NVBF boss urged the Customs women’s team to stay consistent, maintain their competitive hunger, and continue flying the nation’s colours with pride as they position themselves among Africa’s elite clubs.
