NPFL Review: Udoh hits double figures, Heartland and Pillars get away victories

Group B Table toppers, Akwa United lost away to Delta Force 2-1, despite Mfon Udoh netting his 10th league goal of the season.

 

There was also late drama in Asaba as Osita Egbo Otukhe of Delta Force and Akwa United reserve player Markson Ojobo both received their marching orders.

Elsewhere, Kano Pillars claimed a 1-0 away win against Yobe Desert Stars – courtesy of Adamu Hassan’s 10th minute strike.

In Anambra, Heartland claimed a 2-1 away victory over Ifeanyi Ubah, Nassarawa United beat Gombe United 2-1 in Lafia, while Go Round and Plateau United played a 1-1 draw.

In Group A, Katsina United defeated Sunshine Stars 3-1 as they continued to push for a playoff spot. Eric Gwammy, Martins Usule and Tasiu Lawal scored for the hosts, while Chigozie Obasi got Sunshine’s consolation goal.

In other results, Wikki Tourists claimed a 2-1 win over struggling Kwara United, Remo stars played a goalless draw with Enyimba, while Rivers United played a 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars.
