NPFL Review: Points shared in 5 centres as Lobi win big

Matchday 2 of the Nigerian professional football league saw interesting results in 8 match centres, the results only show that the league this season will be a tight affair as there were wins on the road for Plateau United and Wikki Tourist while Lobi Stars were weekend’s big winners.

Bauchi based club side, Wikki Tourist got one of the away wins against Nassarawa United in Lafia, the win pushed the tourist to the second position on the log, while League leaders, Abdu Makaiba led Plateau United got a narrow 1-0 win over Jigawa Golden Stars.

The big win of the weekend saw 2018 champions, Lobi Stars run riot on new boys Delta force, in-form striker, Sikiru Alimi got one of the goals as the Makurdi team put 4 past the newcomers.

Akwa starlet will face Kano pillars on Thursday to complete the round of matchday 2 fixtures while Akwa United will take on Abia Warriors on much later date.
