NPFL :Remo Stars FC Force Bendel Insurance to 1-1 Draw

Bendel Insurance Fc were forced to a 1-1 draw by Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) as they both began 2018/2019 NPFL season with a point apiece.

 

Bendel Insurance FC were in front 18 minutes into the second half of the game after skipper Charles Omokaro skilfully dropped the ball into the net leaving the Remo goalkeeper and defenders confused.

The host replied with a volley 15 minutes later to share the points.

The match played at the Gateway International Stadium had the deputy Governor of Edo state Rt Hon Philip Shaibu and Secretary to Edo state Government Barr Osarodion Ogie on ground to cheer up their boys.

The Sunday game was the first of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season Match Day three (3) fixtures in the league for both teams who just returned to the nation’s premier league.

The Benin Arsenal and the Sky Blue Stars are in Group A of the league alongside the former NPFL former Champions,Lobi Stars FC, Enugu Rangers and Enyimba. Other giants in the group include MFM FC, Sunshine Stars, Rivers United, Kwara United, Wikki Tourists and Niger Tornadoes FC.

Bendel Insurance FC finally gained promotion back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) eleven (11) years after in the lower division, they topped their group in the Bet9ja Nigeria National League (Bet9jaNNL) and later went on to win all their games in the Super 8 competition including the game against Remo Stars.

Speaking after the game,the chief coach of Bendel Insurance, Baldwin Bazuaye said he was satisfied with the result and expressed confidence in his boys believing that his side will get total victory in Benin.
