NPFL: Poor results puts Ladan Bosso under pressure at Gombe United

Uncertainty surrounds Gombe manager Ladan Bosso’s position after the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side extended their winless run to 10 matches with a 1-0 home loss to Elkanemi Warriors on Sunday.

The former Flying Eagles boss took over in January and helped the Savannah Scorpions gain promotion to the top flight.

The past three seasons in the top tier, each with a different man in charge, have seen Gombe United start brightly each time only to end in a tailspin down the table once the new year has been turned.

Under Bosso, Gombe United have taken just 11 points from a possible 36 and are still not safe sitting 11th, and in the drop zone.

Whether that will be sufficient for him to see out his contract remains to be seen but Bosso’s supporters will point to a mid-table finish as perfectly respectable for a club the size of Gombe United.
