NPFL: Plateau United’s Coach Gives up Hopes of Winning 2021/2022 Season

Plateau United have played second fiddle to Rivers United in a couple of weeks now as the battle for top spot is hitting the climax.

The Jos based team are seven points behind the league leaders and it’s as if they are not making progress despite having a fine form lately. Fresh in our minds is the victory recorded against Kano Pillars last outing as the Peace Boys secure a vital win

Despite the win, the Technical adviser of Plateau United, Fidelis Ilechukwu as expressed hopelessness in the pursuit of the league tittle this season. Fidelis, in a post match interview against Kano Pillars as stated that Rivers United has almost ran away with the league tittle.

” The second half of the season has not been too fair to our team but we will do everything possible to see if we can get more away points. 80% , Rivers United have won the trophy, seriously.”

With 6 matches to go and 7 points behind the league leaders, coach Fidelis will only hope for misfortune to befall his compatriots in Rivers United as Rivers will be expected to at least lose a minimum of 2 matches and having a draw in another. In so doing, Plateau United will be expected to win all remaining matches and with a superior goal difference.
