NPFL: Plateau United General Manager Assures That Team Will Bounce Back Next Season

The General Manager of Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan has assured that the team will bounce back stronger and better next season to contest for the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL title next.

Henwan stated this while addressing players and technical crew of the team at the Jos international stadium, two days after 2020/2021 ended.

While taking stock of what transpired in the outgone season, Henwan lamented that financial constraints and players’ negligence to the club’s objective were largely responsible for their inability to win the league title or pick a continental ticket.

While commending some of the players for giving their best throughout the season, the General Manager stated that those of them who exhibited indifference to the club’s aims and aspirations will be shown the way out.

” It’s quite unfortunate that some of you failed to lift up to expectation basically due to indiscipline and nonchalant attitude to the cause of the team, management will not hesitate to drop such players, as there will be no room for a repeat of that next season.

Henwan disclosed that efforts are on to reorganized the technical crew to ensure maximum performance while tested and trusted legs will be recruited to fortify the team and fill the void left behind by some regulars of the team who went to Europe to further their playing career.

He used the opportunity to thank Governor Simon Lalong for his unflinching support and assured that come next season, Plateau United will go for the league title and a continental so as to reciprocate his kind gesture to the team.

The General Manager equally used the opportunity to appreciate the efforts of critical stakeholders in Plateau State for their support and appealed for more next season as efforts are to raise a strong team that can compete on all fronts.

He apologized to the club’s teeming fans both at home and in the diaspora for the team’s inability to secure a continental ticket in the outgone season, assuring that come next season, Plateau United will put smiles on their faces.

Following the conclusion of the 2020/2021 NPFL season, the club is to proceed on a month’s recess and are expected to resume pre-season training at the end of the month.
