NPFL: MFM’s Zikiye Confident of Playoff Spot

MFM left-back Jonathan Zikiye is optimistic that his side will finish amongst the top three in Group A of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s MFM are in stiff competition to get a place in the play off, having gathered 24 points from 16 games and are third on the table behind Rangers and Enyimba.

Only the top three from each group will proceed to the playoff stage where the champions will be determined and the Church Boys are being trailed by Lobi Stars, Wikki Tourists and Katsina United with 23, 22 and 21 points respectively.

According to Zikiye, MFM players have the passion and hunger to overcome the big names in the League.

“The race is not about strength of the squad or names in it, but the passion and hunger for success and that is the major factor leading the team,” he said.

Zikiye, who has been one of the most consistent players for MFM this season noted that his side have a vision of how they want to end the NPFL season.

“We have not lost hope in anyway because we believe by the end of the season, we will see ourselves where we plan to be.”
