NPFL Match Week 9 Summary: Heartland, Kwara United Pick Away Win, As Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Dakadda FC, Jigawa GS And Akwa United All Registers Victories

The NPFL continued to produce interesting and entertaining football actions, as match week 9 fixtures were played across various states in the country, with a total of 17 goals scored across different centers on Saturday and Sunday.

Heartland Fc and Kwara United all registered amazing away wins, with Enugu Rangers, Akwa United, Dakadda Fc, Jigawa GS, and Enyimba Fc all picking up all maximum points in their various matches.

On Saturday, Enyimba Fc defeated Plateau United 2-1. Omoyele scored twice for the Peoples Elephant in the 27th minute and 30th minute of the game, before Effiong scored a consolation goal in the 76th minute for Plateau United. The win ensured that Fatai Osho’s troops remain top of the League table, with 21 points from 9 games played so far.

On Sunday, Jigawa Golden Stars defeated Adamawa United 1-0, with Abdullah Musa Lala scoring the only goal of the game.
In Enugu, Christian Nnaji scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute, at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, as Enugu Rangers defeated Warri Wolves 1-0, which moved Salisu Yusuf’s side to 3rd on the League table.

In Akwa Ibom, Dakkada Fc defeated Abia Warriors 2-1. Aniekan Ekpe and Kokoette Udo both scored for the Home side in the 48th and 54th minutes of the game respectively, while Fatai Abdullahi scored a consolation goal for the Eastern side in the 90th minute of the game, after Ibukun Harrison received his marching orders (red carded) for the visitors in the 85th minute of the encounter.

In Akure, Sunshine Stars lost at home, as Kwara United came from behind to stun Gbenga Ogunbote’s side with a 2-1 away victory. Sadeeq Yusuf had put the home side in the lead in the 51st minute, before Isa Gata and Stephen Jude both scored for the away side in the 55th and 84th minutes respectively, as Kwara United earned an impressive 2-1 away win, which moved them to second position on the League table, three points behind current league leaders, Enyimba International.

In Lagos, it was a dream return to his former team for Fedelis Ilechukwu, as his side, Heartland Fc defeated MFM 2-1 at the Soccer Temple Stadium in Agege. Muyiwa Lawal scored for MFM in the 49th minute to Cancel out Emmanuel Adachi’s goal for Heartland in the 8th minute, before Jimoh Gbadamosi scored for the visitors in the 54th minute to ensure a dream return to Lagos for Fidelis Ilechukwu, as his team defeated his former employers.

In Uyo, Akwa United recorded a convincing victory, as they thrashed Katsina United 3-0. Ndifreke Effiong scored twice (29th and 79th minutes) and Charles Atshiemene scored in the 60th minute to give the home side a massive victory.

The only draw in the Match week 9 fixture currently, was in Makurdi, where Lobi Stars were held at home by Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, as both sides walked away with a point a piece to their name.
