Addressing journalists in the press room shortly after the final whistle, Finidi offered a candid assessment of the outing.
“Not a bad one, but not good enough,” he said. “At least not to lose at home, knowing fully what is behind the team with the outstanding matches on ground.”
The defeat adds pressure to a congested fixture schedule, with crucial games still to be played. Finidi acknowledged that securing at least a point would have provided a more acceptable outcome under the circumstances.
“Getting a point would have been a good result. The boys gave that fight but couldn’t actualise it. We know it’s going to be hard,” he added.
Despite his frustration, the former international emphasized the need for resilience and focus as the campaign progresses.
“We have to accept it and move forward to the next game.”
The narrow loss underscores the fine margins in the league, particularly in tightly contested fixtures. For Finidi and his squad, the immediate task is to regroup quickly and convert performances intopoints as they navigate a demanding run of matches.
While the setback stings, the message from the technical bench remains clear: reflection, correction, and a swift shift of attention to the next challenge.
