NPFL: Everton Picks Positives From Akwa United’s Loss

Akwa United of Uyo’s new coach, Rafael Everton is picking positives from his side’s 1-0 loss to Heartland of Owerri, as he says he was able to spot some potentials in the players that lined out for The Promise Keepers.

The Brazilian tactician pointed out that he has been with the team for just two weeks, as sports247.ng reports he reckons the squad will do better once he spends longer time with them before the season begins.

The former FC Ifeanyiubah of Nnewi and Abia Warriors of Umuahia coach added that he is sure of building a strong team that would be able to compete well in the coming season.

The 2016 Aiteo Cup winner retorted further that he is happy to be back coaching in the country, and he is not intimidated by the competitive standard of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

“I am very to come back to Nigeria again, and Akwa United is a big team in Nigeria, so I’m happy to join them. Thanks to all Nigerians.

“It’s so easy for me to come here, I have good players, good management and good field that makes it easier for me to do my job and I know I will succeed,” Everton exuded gleefully.
