Nike Glad To Extend Contract With NFF

American sports kit manufacturing firm, Nike’s Sports Marketing Director for African Football, Tina Salminen has stated delight with the organisation’s extended contract with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

 

 

Sports247.ng can report that Salminen was all smiles during the contract extension ceremony at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday and expressed delight with the new contract.

Salminen said Nike are happy to associate with a federation that has been able to produce high-profile teams that are rated well and followed largely across the world.

NFF first vice-president and chairman of the body’s legal committee, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi assured Nike that Nigeria will abide with every aspect of the new contract.

Akinwunmi added that the NFFM are already looking forward to signing another much –improved deal after the 2022 FIFA World Cup

In response, Salminen recounted how their World Cup kit for Nigeria went viral all across the globe, and hoped same would apply for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Salminen affirmed: “NIKE is very, very happy with its relationship with Nigeria.

“The jersey we designed for Nigeria for the FIFA World Cup won the award as for Best Designed Jersey and was hugely popular.

“It has remained a source of reference in NIKE meetings and events ever since.

“Nigeria is one of the big teams in world football and we are happy to get them to sign a long term contract.”
