NPFL: Club Owners Mourn late Fashikun, Ref Okebukola

The Football Club owners Association of Nigeria (Club Owners) said the Association was in deep shock over the reported death of two important personalities who were major stakeholders in football in Nigeria late Messers Jide Fashikun and Referee Femi Okebukola.

 

Late Jide Fashikun, a seasoned Sports journalist cum administrator died after a brief illness in Abuja while Referee Femi Okebukola died in an auto crash on his way back from Maiduguri after officiating the match day 4 NPFL encounter between Elkanemi warriors FC and Nasarawa utd FC which ended 1-0.

The Association described the death of the two sports personalities as shocking and tragic considering their contributions to the growth of football in Nigeria.

The Association condoled with the family and friends of the deceased most especially members of the FCT council of SWAN and Oyo state Referees council over the tragic loss.

A statement by the Club Owners Association jointly signed by the Chairman Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka prayed God to give their families the fortitude to bear the loss of their beloved ones.
