NPFL: Beat Rivers United To Escape Relegation And Be Celebrated By The Government, Aiyedatiwa Tells Sunshine Stars

    The Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of ODSFA Management Committee, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has moved to rally Sunshine Stars FC for a decisive win over Rivers United on the last day of the 2020/21 NPFL season.

    Fresh from a crucial 1-1 draw away at Enyimba on the penultimate round of the campaign, Sunshine Stars need a home win against United and pray Jigawa Golden Stars to falter at MFM to secure safety, a situation Aiyedatiwa understand so well.

    The Deputy Governor in the company of Ondo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Sunday Olajide met with the players and coaching crew of the Owena Whales on Wednesday night and revealed huge rewards awaits the team after a successful relegation battle that climaxes on Thursday.

    “You have done so well and we are proud of you; no one gave you a chance before now not even in the AITEO Cup, but you fought so well. Now, beat Rivers to escape relegation and be celebrated by the Government. To show you how we appreciate you, the honor will be like you have won a trophy.

    “The bonus for the win tomorrow will be triple of what it usually is and there are other incentives that I won’t mention now, planned for you. Just try to focus on your game against Rivers United and don’t think about Lagos. The good Lord will make it a total victory for you.” Aiyedatiwa stated.

    The team is also in line to earn about half a million for every goal scored against Rivers United.

    Club administrative mainstay, Hon. Akin Akinbobola who was on the ground to receive Aiyedatiwa at the team’s camp assured the Ondo State number two citizen of the Deji Ayeni tutored boys’ readiness to play for a convincing win against the Pride of Rivers.
