The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has confirmed the award of three points and three goals to El-Kanemi Warriors following Kun Khalifat FC’s failure to honour their Matchday 24 fixture.

In an official update released on Tuesday, the NPFL disclosed that Kun Khalifat FC were charged with breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules after failing to show up for their scheduled league match against El-Kanemi Warriors on Monday, February 2, 2026.
According to the league body, the explanation provided by Kun Khalifat FC for missing the fixture was deemed unacceptable.
Consequently, in line with NPFL26 Framework and Rules, the club has been sanctioned with the forfeiture of three points and three goals, all of which have been awarded to El-Kanemi Warriors.
In addition to the sporting sanctions, Kun Khalifat FC have been fined ₦10 million for failing to fulfil their match obligation.
The NPFL, however, noted that the fine is a suspended sentence and will only be enforced if the club commits a similar breach for the remainder of the 2025/2026 NPFL season.
The league also confirmed that Kun Khalifat FC have 48 hours from the date of the notice to formally appeal the sanctions handed down to them.
The decision forms part of the NPFL’s ongoing efforts to enforce discipline and uphold the integrity of the league during the 2025/26 campaign.
