The gathering concluded with positive remarks from the Club Owners, led by Chairman Chief Okey Kpalukwu, who commended the NPFL for its decisive actions against officiating errors and its successful efforts in televising league matches.

Chief Kpalukwu urged the NPFL board, headed by Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye, to maintain the momentum and continue improving the league’s standards.

“We want to commend the NPFL board for the way it has dealt with the issue of poor officiating by match officials and the promptness applied in doing so.

This is highly commendable, and on behalf of the Club Owners, I’ll want to urge you not to rest on your oars because we can’t afford to go back to the ugly past where match officials do whatever they like with impunity,” emphasized Chief Kpalukwu.

The Club Owners expressed their satisfaction with the progress made, particularly in addressing officiating challenges and ensuring that NPFL matches are broadcast on television.

Televising matches is seen as a crucial step in enhancing the league’s visibility and attracting potential sponsors.

Chief Kpalukwu also acknowledged the role of GTI, the NPFL’s strategic partner, in supporting the league.

While appreciating their contributions, he encouraged GTI to intensify efforts in securing more support and sponsorships for the league.

However, the issue of Total Promotions taking legal action against the NPFL was raised during the meeting.

Chief Kpalukwu urged Total Promotions to cease legal proceedings, emphasizing that the Club Owners are fully committed to supporting the NPFL and condemning any action that might hinder the league’s progress.

In response, NPFL Chairman Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the clubs and pledged to continue engaging with them to fulfil the promises made when the NPFL board assumed office a few months ago.

The collaborative efforts between the NPFL and Club Owners underscore a collective commitment to advancing Nigerian football and building a league that captures national pride and attracts global attention.
