NPFL 2022/23: Adbul Maikaba Laments Bad State Of Niger Tornadoes Adopted Home Ground, Hails Players Battle Mentality Following Goalless Draw

Head coach of Enugu Rangers, Abdul Maikaba has called out the bad state of Niger Tornadoes adopted pitch in Kaduna following the goalless draw between both teams on Sunday in Match day four of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Premier League campaign.

Maikaba stated that the pitch wasn’t playable but still glad that his players fought with a great battle mentality to get a point out of the encounter, Sports247.ng reports.

In his post match interview, Maikaba has this to say, “atleast we have got something in the away fixture, we are actually here to get the three points but it was difficult more especially the pitch, it’s not playable and that makes the game more difficult to play here.”

“Despite that, the boys fought very well and were able to hold onto one point which is very important to the team,” Maikaba lauded.

‘It happens that you play so good and don’t get the maximum points but it’s still the beginning of the league. I believe four games is not too late.”

“We will continue to improve, I believe in our last two games we can see improvement getting a point each in both.”

“At the beginning, two games, we couldn’t get a point. The next two games gave us two points, so expect a clear win in the next game,” Maikaba assured.
