The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has said that the welfare of members of the referees’ body remains paramount in its affairs.
This was made known by an Executive Committee member of the Federation and Chairman of the Referees Committee, Alhaji Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan while addressing referees in Kano during the just concluded National Fitness Test for NNL, NLO and Women League Referees.
Ahlan said that the federation is sensitive to issues affecting the referees adding that payment of indemnities for matches and protection at match venues are being looked into.
The NFF top shot expressed happiness with the efforts of the Otunba Tade Azeez led NRA exco for their understanding and continued partnership with the Federation.
In the same vein, the NRA President, Otunba Tade Azeez urged referees on duty for matches not to succumb to external pressure from clubs in the course of their officiating.
He wished them best of luck and safety.
About seven FIFA graded whistle men shall be in charge of proceedings at various centres for the week six NPFL matches.
Apart from the Kastina vs Plateau which was decided yesterday and handled by FIFA Quadri Adebimpe of Lagos, his counterpart from Lagos, Jelili Ogunmuyiwa is also set for the Rangers vs Lobi Stars.
On duty for the Wikki home game against Jigawa is FIFA Joe Ogabor while the Abia Warriors vs MFM and Dakada vs Sunshine are Abdulahi Abubakar and Ndubuisi Uka respectively, all international match arbiters.
