Noni Madueke Named Among Culprits In Arsenal’s 2-1 Loss To Manchester City

Arsenal’s Nigerian-born winger, Noni Madueke has been named among several players of The Gunners who ‘failed to turn up’ during last weekend’s 2-1 loss away to Manchester City in the English Premier League, Sports 247 reports.

Although Madueke was on from the start of Sunday’s game at Etihad Stadium, the former Chelsea star barely got into the match highlights, and an ex-player, Troy Deeney has scolded the Nigerian-born star for ‘lack of fight’ against City.

Deeney, who captained Watford at the height of his career, opined that Madueke and others showed little fighting spirit, as Erling Haaland’s second-half goal gave City a win that took them just three points behind Arsenal, with a game in hand.

Heading into The Cityzens’ outstanding game away to Burnley on Wednesday night, Deeney pointed out that a seventh EPL title in 10 seasons is within Pep Guardiola’s grip, thereby putting more pressure on Arsenal’s players.

“We talk about how great Manchester City are, but you have to say Noni Madueke didn’t turn up, Martin Zubimendi didn’t turn up, Martin Odegaard didn’t turn up, Cristhian Mosquera didn’t turn up, Piero Hincapie didn’t turn up,” Deeney posited.
