NNL: Woodwork Denies Osun United’s Attempt To Destroy Dynamite

Osun United on Saturday, May 29, 2021, were held to a goalless draw by the visiting Dynamite Force of Iyahmo to deny ‘Omoluabi Giants’ a step up the ladder in the Week 16 encounter played at the Osogbo Township Stadium.

The game, which ended in a stalemate failed to bring out vigor in both halves as the visitors’ delay and defensive tactics worked perfectly to frustrate several efforts of the hosts.

The unlucky United hit the woodwork twice in each half and were denied several other opportunities by Dynamite goalkeeper, Abdul Ganiyu who saved attempts from Hammed Hammed, Mojeed Abimbola, and Jabar Anifowose.

Osun United, whose defenders, Olatunbosun Afolabi, Olusola Akilapa, Odudu Francis, and a teenage Mubarak Oyelade were hardly threatened by Dynamite lone striker, Edikan Johnson look confident of victory with chances created but could not break through the wall of their visitors.

United’s introduction of Adio Monsuru and Thomas Adesina late in the second half brought a bite into the attacking force but could not produce any result as the visitors held on.

The result means United, who will battle Ekiti United in the midweek fixtures holding on Wednesday remains unmoved from the log while Dynamite Force that will battle 3SC in their next game are among the top 5.
