The owner of Remo Stars FC of Ikenne, Honourable Kunle Soname has been honoured with a prestigious award of excellence by ProStar Sports International, in recognition of his immense contributions and support for the development of football in Nigeria.
Sports247 reports that the presentation was done on the sidelines of the 2026 Nigerian National League (NNL) Super-4 last day at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, where Soname played the role of a willing host for the competition that began on Monday at the same venue.
While personally making the presentation himself, the chairman/CEO of ProStar, Chief Paul Maduakor said Soname is setting a very huge example that other Nigerian entrepreneurs should emulate and prayed that God will reward the Remo Stars’ owner for all his efforts.
Maduakor also used the opportunity to congratulate Sporting Lagos FC for emerging champions of this year’s NNL Super-4, which they achieved by topping the final table on Friday after a pulsating clash with local rivals, Inter Lagos.
The boss of Zenith Sports Limited retail outlets and ProStar Advantage footballs also hailed the high standard of play from all the four participating teams and commended them for their intense competitiveness, which he said showcased rapid growth in Nigeria’s domestic league.
He further noted the performance of Inter Lagos that helped them defeat Sporting Lagos 1-0 on the last day of the contest in Ikenne, which Maduakor noted confirmed how competitive the 2026 Super-4 was, with pointers to better days ahead in Nigeria’s league sector.
“All of the clubs played well and no team was guaranteed the trophy until the final whistle. It was a good export image for Nigerian football,” Maduakor posited.
