George Aluo, the Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), took centre stage during a pre-season kickoff at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

This event held on a Friday marked the commencement of the highly anticipated 2023/2024 season. It not only signalled the beginning of football excitement but also portrayed the league’s commitment to engaging with the media and the public.

In the buildup to the season opener, where Nasarawa United is scheduled to lock horns with Zamfara United, the atmosphere is charged with anticipation, setting the stage for a star-studded spectacle and showcasing the league’s potential.

George Aluo, in his articulate address, not only set the tone for the upcoming 2023/24 season but also underscored the pivotal role of the NNL in cultivating and displaying football talent.

Commending Governor Abdullahi Sule for his dedication to hosting and maintaining the stadium, Aluo acknowledged the governor’s genuine passion for sports.

“We look forward to the better team winning tomorrow,” Aluo affirmed, echoing the collective aspiration of the board for a season marked by fair play and intense competition.

“And our desire as a board is to see this being the case from the start of the season tomorrow to the very last match.”
