Nigeria’s Football Renaissance Unveiled at AFCON 2024: Lagos State Sport Commission DG, Oluwatoyin Gafaar Optimistic

In a statement laden with optimism, Honourable Oluwatoyin Gafaar, the Director General of the Lagos State Sport Commission, has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s football prowess as the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicks off in Cote d’Ivoire.

Bolowotan anticipates that this tournament will serve as the stage for showcasing the abundant talent within the country.

“The world and Africa will see that Nigeria is blessed with talent, and this year’s Nations Cup in Cote d’Ivoire is going to be the platform for that to be displayed,” asserted Bolowotan. He emphasized his unwavering belief in the Nigerian youth, expressing delight in witnessing their progress.

As the AFCON 2024 commences, Oluwatoyin views it as one of the premier platforms for players to exhibit their skills. “Nigerian football youth has never disappointed me, and they will still not disappoint come AFCON 2024. It’s all about believing in your youth and believing in their talent,” he affirmed. Oluwatoyin also praised the state’s contribution to the national team, highlighting that Lagos State has been a nurturing ground for several players gracing the AFCON stage.

Extending gratitude to the governor of Lagos State, Oluwatoyin commended the efforts invested in sports infrastructure development. “Kudos to our governor who has been doing so well for us in the state, and that is why he’s working and making sure that more football facilities are available for the teams in Lagos State,” he remarked.
