Nigeria’s Edidiong Joseph proved his class on the international stage, clinching a remarkable three medals — gold, silver, and bronze — at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Competing in the fiercely contested men’s 71kg weightlifting category, Joseph demonstrated strength and consistency across all rounds.

He lifted 151kg in the Snatch to secure gold, showing impeccable technique and composure under pressure.
In the Clean & Jerk, the Nigerian lifter managed 175kg, earning a bronze medal in that segment.
His combined total of 326kg was enough to place him second overall, adding a silver medal to his impressive collection.
The overall gold medal went to Yusuf Fehmi Genc of Turkey, who dominated the field with a total lift of 336kg.
Joseph’s outstanding display marks another milestone for Nigeria’s weightlifting contingent, reaffirming the country’s rising profile in the sport on the global stage.
