Imade’s move comes on the back of a stellar campaign in Liga F, where she netted 16 goals in 29 appearances, finishing as the second-highest scorer in the league.
Her prolific form also earned her a place in the prestigious La Liga Women Team of the Season — a testament to her rising influence in European women’s football.
Speaking on the transfer, Imade expressed her excitement and pride in joining a club of Bayern Munich’s stature.
“I am incredibly happy and proud to have signed my contract with FC Bayern Women,” Imade said. “With its history, the club is one of the biggest and most important in the world. I am therefore delighted to be a part of the club in the future and to contribute to its successes.”
Describing herself as a versatile forward, Imade emphasized her aerial ability, sharp finishing, and willingness to work for the team — attributes that have made her one of Africa’s standout exports in recent years.
Bianca Rech, director of FC Bayern Women, welcomed the Nigerian international with high praise and outlined the club’s vision for her development.
“Edna brings an exciting profile – she is fast, physically strong, and versatile in attack,” Rech stated. “After her strong season in Spain, we want to continue to support her positive development.”
The decision to loan her to Real Sociedad is seen as a strategic move, giving her consistent game time in Spain’s top flight while preparing her for the long-term demands of German football.
Imade’s rise reflects a growing trend of Nigerian talents making waves across top European leagues, and her move to Bayern further underlines the global recognition of Nigeria’s depth in women’s football.
With her eyes set on future success in Munich, all attention will now turn to how she continues her form in San Sebastián — as one of the continent’s brightest stars takes the next leap in her career.
