Beaming with pride and gratitude, Majekodunmi credited her family’s presence and unwavering support as a driving force behind her podium finish.

“My parents came to cheer me on, so I didn’t want to disappoint them. They left their office just to watch my race,” she shared emotionally.

Reflecting on the achievement, the young sprinter admitted she exceeded her expectations despite an intense month of preparations.

“I was really happy because I wasn’t expecting that performance, but all thanks to God,” she added.

Majekodunmi was full of praise for the organisers and the atmosphere at the championship, which she described as a step forward for African athletics.

“It was excellent, beyond what we expected from Africa. The organisers did a great job giving us a platform to show our talents.”

The quarter-miler also applauded the quality of the competition environment, from the well-maintained tartan tracks to the Puma-sponsored kits provided to Team Nigeria.

Looking ahead, the teenage sensation is already focusing on the upcoming national trials and her long-term goal of competing at the Youth Olympic Games next year.

“I hope to be an Olympian. That’s my dream. So I’ll keep training hard and give my best at the trials,” Majekodunmi declared with determination.
