Nigeria’s Omamuyovwi Erhire has opened his 2026 indoor season in emphatic fashion after soaring to a winning height of 2.24 metres at the Texas Tech Corky Classic, delivering the best clearance of the men’s high jump competition.

The Texas Tech graduate dominated the event with the only jump above 2.21m, underlining his status as one of the most consistent high jumpers on the U.S. collegiate circuit this season. His 2.24m effort stood as the top clearance of the meet and set an early benchmark for the year.
