Osayi, who joined the Swedish side earlier this year from Enugu Rangers in the Nigerian Premier Football League, wasted no time stamping his authority in Europe. At Assyriska FF, fondly known as De Röda, the 24-year-old quickly became an indispensable figure, anchoring the club’s defence with maturity far beyond his years.
Throughout the season, his reflex saves, intelligent positioning, and calm leadership in high-pressure moments earned Assyriska crucial points. Observers in Sweden hailed him as one of the division’s most decisive players, with several standout performances that shifted the momentum of the campaign in his club’s favour.
His Best Goalkeeper award not only highlights his impact in Sweden but also reinforces the growing influence of Nigerian footballers across Scandinavian leagues.
With such a strong start to his European journey, football analysts believe Osayi Kingdom is on track for an even bigger breakthrough, potentially attracting interest from clubs in Sweden’s higher divisions and beyond.
For a first season outside Africa, Osayi has delivered a statement: he is ready for the next level.
