The contingent will fly out of the Burkinabé capital aboard Côte d’Ivoire Airlines, returning a day after the tournament’s conclusion.
Led by Coach Seun Oyeniyi, the young Nigerian side displayed determination throughout the competition but narrowly missed out on a semifinal berth despite finishing level on three points with the teams that progressed. Their exit was ultimately decided by goal difference.
Nigeria’s campaign began on a difficult note with a 1–4 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire on Monday, a result that later proved costly. The team bounced back impressively to defeat Benin Republic 1–0, but the earlier heavy loss left them at a disadvantage in the tightly contested group.
The squad had undergone a 13-day training camp in Abuja ahead of the qualifiers, but defensive errors in the opening match were widely identified as the turning point in their journey.
Despite the setback, the team’s effort and potential have been praised, with expectations that the experience gained will strengthen their development ahead of future competitions.
