Nigeria Football need good, quality medical care facilities and policies, ANFSC President cries out…as he mourns death of another player

The President of Authentic Nigeria Football supporters of Nigeria, Abayomi Ogunjimi has urged for good medical facilities after the sudden death of Nassarawa United player, Chineme Martins who collapsed unopposed on Match day 23 of the NPFL in a clash with Katsina United which the team went on to win 0-3.

In a chat with sports247.ng, Abayomi revealed his agony, “We can’t shy away from the fact that our leagues and most of our teams lack good and quality medical care”, it’s such a big shame that basic CPB couldn’t be administered in a professional league match”.

” Just only this Year, we have lost players and coaches to the cold hands of death due to the depleting standard of the medical facilities and team in the NPFL, this is really a hard pill to swallow”, he cried out.

“The League Management Company (LMC) has confirmed the report of the death of Chineme Martins, a defender with Nasarawa United FC, who slumped during the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 23 against Katsina United in Lafia,” the LMC said in a statement on their website.

The LMC in their statement also called for a standard autopsy to establish the cause of the player’s death, “It is hoped that the findings of the autopsy would inform subsequent measures if any that has not been addressed by the existing standard procedure”, the LMC said.
