Niger United Extend Lead On League Table With Win Over Kano Pillars

Niger United consolidated on their lead on the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League Men Category table with a vital win on match day 9.

The two rivals played out an interesting but tension filled match with Niger United, inspired by the Aliyu brothers, scoring the winning goal in the last three seconds of the game courtesy of Shehu Aliyu (one of the Aliyu brothers), which left everyone on the edge of their feet.

The win cement the 2018 champion’s lead on the league table.

In other matches in the men category, Seasider Boys of Lagos defeated defending champion Safety Shooters 30-26 while Tojemarine Academy earned their second win in the league as they defeated Plateau Vipers 25-23.

De Defenders had to rely on experience to earn a 20-19 win over Kada Stars while Confluence Stars comfortably defeated Rima Strikers of Sokoto 26-18 in a largely one sided match.

In the women category, Defender Babes defeated Seasider Babes of Lagos 24-22 while Kada Queens defeated 31-22.

Former champion Safety Babes comfortably earned a 28-18 victory over Edo Dynamos.
