After a commanding 3-0 win against F8ballers FC, Dennis Lawrence, a key player for Alim City FA, expressed his gratitude and optimism for his team’s performance in the ongoing tournament.
“We give God the glory today,” Dennis told Sports 247 in a post-match interview. “It was a wonderful game for both teams, but the best team won today.”

Reflecting on the competitive nature of the tournament, Dennis acknowledged the presence of formidable opponents but emphasized his team’s continuous improvement.
“The tournament is very competitive because there are a lot of big teams in this competition,” he remarked. “This is just the second year of this team, and I can say the boys are improving every day in this competition. That is what I see.”
Dennis also shared insights into Alim City FA’s journey, noting their initial setback in the first game and subsequent efforts to regroup and perform better.
“We lost our first game,” he explained. “The position was poor because we didn’t have enough time to prepare being a week before the competition.
We had to go back to the drawing board, we realized ourselves, and with training and God’s grace, we were able to get the points today.”
Looking ahead, Dennis acknowledged the challenges posed by other strong teams in the group, particularly First Bank and Spartan FC.
“Teams like First Bank and Spartan FC have been playing in the league for a long time,” he said. “Even the team we won today are very good. We are ready for them.
Like I said, it is not by power but by God’s grace. We are ready to contest with any team that comes our way.”
