Niger United and Safety Babes Dominate as First Phase of Ardova Handball Premier League Concludes

Niger United and Safety Babes have emerged as the leaders at the conclusion of the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League in Benin.

On the final day of the phase, Niger United secured a convincing 33-22 victory over Correction Boys, leaving the latter to regret missed opportunities.

Coach Yekini Adebayo praised his players for their performance during the first phase but emphasized the need for improvement in order to achieve their goal of winning the league in Lagos.

Adebayo acknowledged the challenges faced throughout the campaign, having suffered a loss and a draw in games they could have won.

Despite this, Niger United emerged as the top team in the first phase and now look ahead to the next phase with determination. Adebayo acknowledged that there are no easy opponents in the league and expressed the team’s commitment to always give their best.

Meanwhile, Safety Babes maintained their unbeaten record in Benin by defeating Rima Queens with a score of 33-22. The team displayed control and efficiency throughout the game, capitalizing on the chances that came their way.

Coach Innocent Ikechukwu praised his players for their performance but emphasized that the team cannot celebrate just yet. Their ultimate goal is to win the league in Lagos, and they intend to continue their strong performance from the first phase into the next.

Ikechukwu acknowledged that while his team were the reigning champions in the previous league, they are now under new sponsors and aim to become the first champions under their sponsorship.

In other matches, Seasider Babes secured a 31-27 victory over Bendel Dynamos, while Tojemarine Academy defeated Benue Baffaloes with a score of 28-19.

As the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League concluded, Niger United and Safety Babes emerged as the leading teams. Their impressive performances and undefeated records in Benin have set them apart from the competition.
