From the moment he stepped onto the NCAA track, Fakorede has competed with the poise, confidence and execution of an established sprinter—thriving under pressure and delivering on the biggest stages.

Indoors, he quickly became one of the most explosive freshmen in the highly competitive SEC. Fakorede’s blistering 6.56 in the 60m not only announced his arrival but also ranked as the second-fastest time in Mississippi State history.

He consolidated this form with a fourth-place finish at the SEC Championships and later placed eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a 6.59s run, earning First-Team All-American honors.

His standout performances saw him claim two SEC Freshman of the Week awards, signalling his rapid ascent among America’s top collegiate sprinters.

The outdoor season proved just as commanding. Fakorede clocked a superb 10.06 personal best in the 100m, producing multiple sub-10.10 performances that firmly established him as one of the quickest freshmen in the NCAA.

He progressed to the NCAA East First Round, showcased his range with a 21.00 in the 200m, and capped his season with a bronze medal at the Nigerian National Championships, running 10.07 in a field stacked with senior national talent.

With elite versatility across the 60m, 100m, and 200m—and a championship mentality to match—Nicholas Fakorede is emerging as one of the most reliable young sprinters of 2025.

For Nigeria, he represents not just hope for the future but a clear statement that the next generation is ready to compete with the world’s best. Every time he steps on the track, Fakorede carries the same message: he’s not just rising—he’s arriving.
