This extension aims to address ongoing challenges and ensure the smooth conduct of Local Council elections and the State FA election.

The decision to extend the tenure of the Normalization Committee was communicated in a letter dated October 4, 2023, and signed by Ali Abubakar Muhammed on behalf of the NFF’s Secretary-General, Sanusi Muhammed.

The letter was a response to a request submitted by the Normalization Committee on September 28, 2023.

The NFF emphasized its expectations for the committee to utilize this additional month effectively to facilitate the Local Council elections and the subsequent State FA election.

The Normalization Committee was initially constituted by the NFF in June, with a primary mandate to restore stability, promote transparency, and oversee the orderly management of football affairs in the Nasarawa State Football Association.

Their task included conducting elections in the Local Council and the state FA, a responsibility that was initially set to be fulfilled within two months.

The committee members responsible for overseeing this vital transitional process are Aliyu Bello, serving as Chairman, Othman Bala as Vice Chairman, and Yakubu Kwanta as a key member.

Other committee members include Sule Yepwi, Ibrahim Adamu Shigagara, and Abdullahi Ibrahim Osanga, who serves as the Secretary of the committee.

The extension of the Normalization Committee’s tenure underscores the NFF’s commitment to facilitating the successful transition to new leadership in Nasarawa State football.

This move aims to ensure that the pending elections are carried out without complications, offering a renewed opportunity for the state’s football association to select a new Executive Board.

This development holds particular significance for the football landscape in Nasarawa State, as a smoothly conducted election process is essential for maintaining the integrity and transparency of football governance.
