NFF/FIFA Players’ Hostel, Training Pitches Will Be Completed Within Stipulated Time Frame – Gusau

The president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has served a strong assurance that the ongoing players’ hostel and training pitches project under construction in Abuja will be completed within stipulated time.

Sports247 reports that Gusau gave the pledge while taking Confederation of African Football (CAF) acting general-secretary, Samson Adamu, on a tour of the NFF-FIFA joint venture at Package B of Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

Gusau, who used the opportunity to reaffirm the NFF’s commitment to deliver the ultra-modern project within the agreed timeline, also disclosed that the contractor is working on an agreement that will run for a span of two years.

He added that work has now reached the 15th month since it officially commenced in March last year, thereby leaving approximately nine months to completion, and the NFF boss expressed confidence that the contractors will meet the deadline.

The Nigerian football top administrator further disclosed that one of the artificial pitches at the construction site is already about 80 per cent completed, with other components of the project all progressing simultaneously.

While also revealing that the playing surface will be fully rooted before attention shifts to the internal finishing works across the facility, Gusau assured that the NFF will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure steady progress at the nearby cite.

“I am satisfied with the pace and quality of work on the site. (Its) proximity to the NFF headquarters allows (us) carry out regular inspections. Work is progressing well. We will continue to support the contractors to ensure the project is completed within the agreed period,” Gusau reiterated.
