“My Desire Is To Bring Youths Out Of Poverty Through Sports” – Paul E FC Proprietor

The Proprietor of Paul E Football Club Mr. Sotomtochukwu Chidiebebe revealed in Abuja during the commencement of the 2023 Paul E under 17 Cup that his desire is to see many young Nigerians making their career through sports.

He expressed that he does everything with his capacity to ensure many young Nigerians realize their dream through sports.
When asked why he is spending so much on the growth and development of grassroots in the country? He answered “Firstly, it’s passion and secondly it’s the love for others.

“Football sector in Nigeria is suffering, the grassroots is as good as gone, there are no grassroots so, what else can we do? That is why we trying to make an impact in our own way, and the best way to give that impact is to build a structure like this tournament for the young ones to thrive.

“Government can’t do it alone, no individual can do it alone but with a structure like this, people will see it and emulate it. And what does that do, it helps grassroots which is the main purpose of this tournament.

“We want to create an impact, help people, bring people out of poverty through sports as well get people off the street through football.”

When asked if there will be any plan to develop young people after the tournament? He replied: “Definitely, 100% plan for them, we have agents coming in, but we decide not to make it public for reasons best known to us we have agents coming from Europe, Africa, and the rest of the world.

“Not only that, we invited coaches and scouts within Nigeria, we will be working together hopefully by the summer or next year we start seeing the results of this tournament.”
