Super Eagles stand in captain, Ahmed Musa has praised his teammate Odion Ighalo for his ‘’exceptional performance’’ in the 3-2 win over Libya in Sfax on Tuesday night.
Nigeria claimed the victory in front of fans at the Taïeb M’hiri Stadium following a sensational brace by the Eagles attacker in the Group E Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
In the 13th minute, Ighalo coolly poked home a Musa cross past the stranded keeper.
Then, in the 81st minute Ighalo struck the match winner for the three-time African champions.
“Odion Ighalo deserves the plaudits he received on Tuesday. He is in form and clearly showed it and helped the team win a very difficult game,” Ahmed Musa mused in a chat with Sports247.ng.
“I’m very happy for him. He is a very good player with so much talents.”
Not only did he score two goals, the former Udinese, Cesena and Granada striker provided the assist for the second netted by Musa.
