Seven-time Nigerian national 100m champion Endurance Ojokolo has thrown her weight behind the Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 with a ₦200,000 cash prize donation for the men’s and women’s 100m events.
Ojokolo, who is based in Saudi Arabia, donated the money to enhance the elite 100m races at the competition, with the prize pool to be shared equally between the men’s and women’s categories.
In each category, the winner will receive ₦50,000, while the second- and third-place finishers will take home ₦30,000 and ₦20,000 respectively.
The former Nigerian sprint star expressed confidence in the potential of the Dynamic Athletics Meet and pledged her continued support for the competition.
“Athletics is the sport that made me who I am today, and I am grateful for the opportunity Dynamic Athletics has given me to give back to the athletes.
“I also hope this meet becomes a series, giving athletes more opportunities to compete and continue their preparations towards the National Sports Festival,” Ojokolo said.
Ojokolo enjoyed a distinguished sprinting career, winning the Nigerian national 100m title seven times.
She also emerged African champion in the women’s 100m at the 2002 African Championships in Tunis before successfully defending her title in Brazzaville in 2004.
The accomplished sprinter represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games and World Athletics Championships, earning recognition as one of the country’s leading female sprinters of her generation.
The Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 is scheduled for August 15, 2026, at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Sports Complex in Lagos.
The venue is regarded as one of Nigeria’s fastest tracks and is expected to attract elite athletes seeking competitive opportunities and preparations ahead of the National Sports Festival.
Ojokolo’s contribution adds further incentive to the 100m races while highlighting the growing role of former Nigerian athletes in supporting the development of the next generation.
