Moses Will Add To Our Victory Chances – Rohr

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has admitted he is ready to accept Chelsea winger, Victor Moses back into the Nigerian national team because he believes the player can boost his side’s winning chances.

Sports247.ng can report that Rohr is not adverse to recent moves by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Melvin Amaju Pinnick to get Moses to rescind his retirement, as the gaffer adores the star.

Rohr admitted Moses can add depth both in attack and midfield in the Eagles’ quest for top spot at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he believes the star’s experience would come in handy.

He went on to affirm that he supports Pinnick’s efforts to get the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic winger back into the Nigerian frame, especially as playing at AFCON 2019 could help revive his club career.

However, Rohr stressed that it is not just about the player and him, the coach, but for Nigeria’s chances of pic king a fourth continental title up north in Egypt come June/July.

Rohr added that he continues to have a good relationship with Moses, whose experience and skills he admits can make a difference for Nigeria.

“We have still a good relationship with Victor Moses. He is one of the the players who can make the difference.

“I believe it was too early for such a good player to stop international football when he did but we have to respect his decisions.

“If he changes his mind we will welcome him. He has to find motivation within himself to come back and be ready to give his 100% at all times.

“We know he can. Then of course, it is important that he gets back to playing regularly at his club and get his sharpness back.”
