More palliatives distributed as Cricket Federation joins the party

Like we have some sports federations do in this pandemic period, the Nigeria Cricket Federation has also distributed palliatives to its national team players.

The sports ministry, the Handball Federation, the Nigerian Football Federation have all distributed palliatives to players and athletes.

In a statement signed by Musa Bodie, for the office of the public relations, the Nigeria Cricket Federation distributed palliative in form of cash to the various levels of the national teams which are the Senior Men, National U-19 Male and the National Women’s teams.

President of the Federation Prof. Yahaya Adam Ukwenya, via a virtual chat explained that the decision to give palliatives to the players was natural and also one of the basic duties of the board pledging that such palliatives will be given from time to time depending on the resources available to the board during these trying periods.

The Federation also rolled out activities in which the players will participate in from their different homes during this period.

In 2019, The senior Men’s Team qualified from Africa division to attend the ICC T-20 World Cup Qualifiers in the UAE, the National U-19 broke over a 100 years history when they qualified for the U-19 world cup in South Africa and the National Women’s team participated in the return leg of the bilateral series with Rwanda and also for the first time, took part in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
