Nigerian teenage talent Momoh Muntari has taken a major step in his football journey after officially signing his first professional contract with Croatian top-flight side NK Istra 1961.

The highly rated prospect, developed at Malvon Football Academy in Lagos State, completed his move to the Prva HNL outfit as he prepares to begin life in European football.
Muntari expressed delight at joining the Zeleno-žuti, describing the move as a dream opportunity to grow, compete, and showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
“I’m very happy to be here and grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to wear the green and yellow colours and give my best for the club,” the youngster said after putting pen to paper.
At NK Istra 1961, Muntari will link up with fellow Nigerian players at the club, a factor expected to ease his transition into a new football culture and environment.
The club, known for giving young talents a platform in the Croatian top division, sees the Nigerian academy graduate as one for the future.
With pre-season preparations underway, a professional debut in the Croatian Prva HNL now appears firmly within reach, marking another positive milestone for Nigerian grassroots football and the Malvon Football Academy, which continues to export talent to Europe.
Muntari’s move further underlines the growing pathway from Nigerian academies to European leagues, as the youngster looks to make his mark in Croatia and beyond.
