Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has been granted a temporary leave of absence by his club following a shocking attack by irate fans that left the Nigerian forward visibly shaken and needing assistance to reach safety.
The incident occurred after a match when a group of supporters confronted the players. Moffi was reportedly punched, kicked, and had his hair pulled, forcing goalkeeper Yéhvann Diouf to intervene and help escort him through the hostile crowd and into the club’s building.

Sources within the club say the decision to excuse Moffi from team activities was made to allow him recover mentally and physically from the traumatic experience.
The club has condemned the attack, with internal investigations now underway to identify those responsible. Football authorities are also expected to take up the case, as concerns grow over player safety and rising fan violence.
Moffi, a key figure for both his club and the Nigerian national team, is expected to return after full recovery and assurances of enhanced security measures.
