Mikel, Moses Combo Looms At Crystal Palace

Nigerian soccer fans might be in for a rehashed setting of two of their topmost players lining out for the same club once again in the English Premier League, as Crystal Palace are now in the hunt for Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi, alongside their former player, Victor Moses.

Moses and Mikel both played together at Chelsea, who are also based in London, like Palace, and, just two years after their paths were separated in a move to China by the latter, they could be heading back together.

Sports247.ng reports that, with The Eagles still looking to lure Moses back to Selhurst Park, Palace could be in for an interesting combo of the two Nigerian stars, who had a remarkable combination at Chelsea.

Though Moses announced his retirement from the Nigerian national team soon after the 2018 World Cup, where he scored once, a penalty against Argentina in the final group game, he is still revered by soccer fans back home in his country, with many still hoping for his return.

Linking forces with Mikel at Palace could be the right route for Moses back into the Nigerian team, and their fans would be excited to learnt hat both players are part of London club’s winter frenzy.

Palace are reportedly looking for potential reinforcements to beef up the team in the winter transfer market, with Mikel identified as the central midfielder they need and Moses as the right man on the flank.

However, Palace should be in for a crunchy battle to get Mikel, as six Premier League clubs are said to be in contention for the signature of the star, who recently cut his contract with Tianjin Teda of China.

Although the 31-year-old Eagles’ captain priced himself out a move to the American Major League Soccer (MLS) and Fenerbahce of Turkey, who ended their interest in him due to his excessive wage demands, Mikel may accept to end his career with a modest pay day at Palace.
